How many times have you said to yourself "I must be healthier"?
Don't worry, we're probably in the hundreds by now and despite being the masters in one of the healthiest fruits around, we are aware that consuming too many avocados can be not so good for you.
We're here to debunk some of the rumors about avocados being bad for you and to help, we're delighted to introduce Dr Vidhi Patel | Registered Nutritionist | Medical Holistic Consultant | Clinician | and Homeopathy expert who has taken a few minutes out of her day to talk about our Avocados!

So today, on World Health Day, let's join in with some homeschooling and learn a few reasons why Avocados are so good for you.
There are many many answers, let's go through the main ones:
A - Appetite Regulator. Avocados can help you feel fuller for longer, so eating half of an Avocado (or a whole one, we don't judge!) as part of your breakfast or lunch it can help you feel full and reduce those snacking spells we all get throughout the day.
V - Vitamin fuelled. Avocados are packed full of vitamins such as Vitamin B5, B6, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Vitamin K. All of which help our bodies be healthier as well as helping our skin, hair and nails.
O - Oleic Acid. A rich source of monounsaturated fatty acids, which is extremely good for your heart. It can also help lower cholesterol and be a natural anti-inflammatory.
C - Cholesterol Controlling. As mentioned above, elements of an Avocado can help to lower or control your cholesterol. Which in turn, is also good for your heart.
A - Antioxidant source. Avocados contain antioxidants that are particularly good for your eyes and vision as well as containing a very special anti-aging power. (Excuse us while we eat as many as possible for youthfulness).
D - Delicious to every palate. Avocados are so versatile. They taste good in almost everything, from salads to sandwiches and in stir-frys or dips, even grilled! So this is a good way to encourage people to eat more Avocados!
O - Avocado Oil. The oil in an Avocado is extremely good for your hair and scalp and can also be a natural anti-inflammatory (as we mentioned above).
Hearing Dr Vidhi talk about all these things inspired us to ask her more about what can be used to help keep us healthy. Her Homeopathic background was certainly helpful as she told us that a little bit of Tumeric each day can help with arthritis pain and that things like pineapple and walnuts can help lubricate joints and calm symptoms of arthritis too!
A balanced diet is a key to feeling better and healthier and ensuring that you have your five a day will help too.
